I’m Emilia — London born and bred,  and now (many years later) causing creative mischief from deep in the heart of Texas. 🤠

My business began as a tiny idea on the East Coast in 2012, packed its bags with me to Las Vegas in 2014, and officially became The Artsy Files — where it found its name and its sass. But let's start at the very beginning, a very good place to start...

... I started my business well over a decade ago with a background in art and design as a photographer, and photography is my passion, but my camera (with my favorite lens attached) weighed roughly the same as a small toddler so my back staged a protest and filed a formal complaint. So, I started focusing less on photo shoots and more on post-processing, and found that I loved being the wizard behind the curtain and creating magic behind the scenes. I started creating toolkits to speed up my editing workflow such as Photoshop actions, Lightroom presets, overlays, textures, clipart, and brushes. Essentially, all the tools needed for the effects I wanted. In other words, the tools and resources that other photographers, designers, and creatives could also use as part of their editing process, too.

But weddings had also stolen my heart. While planning my own (way back when before the Artsy Files was even a spark of an idea), I fell head-over-veil and announced I’d obviously become a wedding planner. (I did not. The drama was enough.) Instead, I designed a wedding program so detailed it practically needed its own table at the reception — love story, timeline, honeymoon, and childhood throwbacks no one asked for but everyone read. Naturally, I made it in 40 colors, inspired by both classic and modern wedding hues, because love comes in many colors and so should your wedding program. And of course because clearly I don't believe in stopping when things get reasonable.

After that came my obsession with whimsical name art and digital designs — mostly nursery-style pieces that also look suspiciously good in adult spaces. No age limits. Only fun limits (and we ignore those). It was going to be my next project. Whimsical and artsy, created as ready-to-use files designed to be printed, framed, hung, journaled with, scrapbooked, and enjoyed in just about any creative way you can think of. Powered by curiosity, creativity, and a strong tendency to say, “What happens if I make one more version?” And so began, The Artsy Files.
